Act of Valor (2012) opens with an emotional scene as Lieutenant Rorke (Rorke Denver) bids farewell to his pregnant wife to prepare for a special mission. The film then quickly moves to a kidnapping in Costa Rica, where CIA agent Lisa Morales (Roselyn Sánchez) is held captive by a terrorist organization. SEAL Team 7 is tasked with rescuing her and stopping the global terrorist threat. The opening sets the stage for tension with realistic images of military and special operations.
One of the most striking and impressive scenes is the rescue in Costa Rica. The SEAL team carries out a powerful attack on the enemy base, using modern combat techniques with great precision. The realistic and tense action scenes make the audience feel the difficulties and dangers that the special agents face. In particular, when the SEAL team had to deal with the enemy in a dense forest and had to fight under adverse conditions, this scene clearly depicted the courage and solidarity of the team.
The ending of Act of Valor brought a sense of sadness when Lieutenant Rorke sacrificed himself to save his teammates from a grenade. The SEAL team succeeded in eliminating the enemy and stopping the terrorist plot, but Rorke’s sacrifice left a deep void. The film ended with a military funeral, where Rorke’s teammates remembered him.
