“Battlefield Earth” is a 2000 science fiction action film directed by Roger Christian and based on the 1982 novel of the same name by L. Ron Hubbard. The film stars John Travolta, Barry Pepper, and Forest Whitaker. It is set in a dystopian future where Earth has been conquered and is ruled by an alien race known as the Psychlos.

The story takes place in the year 3000, a millennium after the Psychlos invaded Earth and decimated human civilization. The remnants of humanity live in primitive conditions, scattered in small tribes and unaware of their true history. The Psychlos exploit Earth’s resources, using advanced technology and brutal methods to maintain their dominance.

The protagonist, Jonnie Goodboy Tyler (Barry Pepper), is a member of a human tribe living in the Rocky Mountains. Driven by curiosity and a desire for freedom, Jonnie sets out to explore the ruins of human civilization. He is captured by the Psychlos and brought to their headquarters, where he becomes a slave.
